President Tinubu must urgently summon all governors for a sincere roundtable discussion. Nigeria cannot continue like this. We must ask ourselves. Where is this problem truly coming from? The insecurity across the nation has become an unbearable tragedy, and every governor must be held accountable.

When there is insecurity in a state, the governor of that state should not sleep. Lives are being lost, families are grieving, and communities are living in fear. These killings are not just numbers, they are a direct indictment of leadership. Security is not the job of the police alone, the governor is the Chief Security Officer of the state and must act with urgency.

Many governors know the bandits troubling their regions. Some even sit with them and negotiate with them. Why should such things be happening? These actions only encourage criminality and weaken the entire security network. When leaders take such steps, they make the work of our soldiers even more difficult. These men and women are risking their lives for the nation; we must protect them through proper planning and the right strategies.

A major weakness in our system is poor security coordination. If our intelligence structure were functioning effectively, these attackers would not be moving freely. Why are these threats not appearing on our radars? Why are bandits able to plan, move, and strike without detection? This shows a deep failure in intelligence gathering, surveillance, and communication.

The government must fully integrate the DSS into all security operations. The DSS has critical intelligence capabilities, and the military must work closely with them. When intelligence and operations move together, threats can be detected and neutralized early. No security agency can succeed in isolation; collaboration is essential.

Furthermore, forest guards must be deployed to our bushes, forests, and rural corridors. These areas have become hideouts for criminals because they are unmonitored. Properly trained forest guards, working in coordination with security agencies, can help track movements, gather information, and prevent these groups from establishing camps.

The government must invest far more in security modern technology, advanced surveillance systems, better equipment, improved training, and proper welfare for operatives. Our security agencies cannot confront dangerous groups with outdated tools. Nigeria needs a connected intelligence network that covers land, air, borders, and remote environments. Governors must also strengthen local intelligence and work hand-in-hand with federal bodies.

If we continue like this, more innocent lives will be lost. But if leadership becomes proactive, if coordination is strengthened, if intelligence agencies work together, and if serious investment is made, Nigeria will overcome these threats. This is the time for decisive action, not political games. The value of human life must be restored, and those responsible for safeguarding the people must rise to their duty without hesitation.
